Mercy School

One of Mercy Foundation's fast growing projects is a school for the children of rural villages in areas bordering the Mekong River, which serves as a natural Thai-Lao border. This school was started in order to give opportunity for education development to disadvantaged children in the Nathan and Khemarat districts of Ubonratachatani province, Northeast Thailand. The school began with a small number of orphans from the surrounding areas and now has 250 children, ranging from K-1 through 4th grade. The Mercy Foundation's school is giving hope and future to rural Thai children whose parents are largely poor farmers.

March 2005 was the first graduation for the Kindergarten 3 children who are moving up to the 1st grade.

The Needs of the Mercy Foundation's school are as followed:

1. Volunteers to teach English in the school (click here to volunteer); and

2. 20 sets (a monitor, CUP, keyboard, and UPS) of computers--450 US dollars per set (click here to make donations for computers).
